Will the child able to go alone from his or her house to the park? With the exercise "“Park Obstacles" we will be working on this task. Children will have to overcome obstacles in order to get to the swings.
The patient has to memorize a number of obstacles and then choose one of several designated routes while avoiding the traps. The aim is that children have to go from their home to the park without falling into them.
To addition, “Park Obstacles” has different levels: basic, easy, medium, difficult and advanced. The occupational therapist can choose the level for each patient according to their abilities. As the level increases, the child will have more elements to memorize and more complicated routes to reach the destination.

Episodic memory is the main cognitive function worked in this worksheet since children have to memorize several elements.
The secondary function that this activity works is planning. The children will have to plan their path to reach their destination and, as the level increases the activities become more complicated!
