Today we are launching a new game ideal for kids with ADHD. "Kick the ball" is a children’s activity in which the kids have to “kick” the ball that the platform indicates. The screen will show a ball from different sports, but the child should only click on the one that is specified.
Inhibition is the main cognitive function worked in this game for children. It is an activity especially recommended for children with ADHD because they will be exercising their ability to inhibit impulses. Children will want to press all the balls that appear on screen, but they have to control themselves and click only when they see the ball that is indicated to them the activity.
The children will be working sustained attention because they will need to pay close attention and kick the appropriate ball before it disappears.
Processing speed is also worked because the speed increases as the levels increase.
This game is useful for working activities of daily living because children have to be able to filter the information that they receive every day and maintain only the information that they really need. In this way, "Kick the ball" teach the kids how to be focus and pay attention to the action they are doing in that moment, without distraction from other stimuli that appear in their surroundings and could be more interesting to them.
NeuronUP offers occupational therapists the possibility to customize the game for each patient according to their abilities. The aspects of the game the professional can personalize are:
The occupational therapist can also customize: the number of exercises to finish (total worked, passed, acceptable or failed), time limit, inclusion of an inactivity warning and whether to show an activity timer.
"Making Words" and "Word Fishing” are two of NeuronUP's most popular games. Because of that we have included more variety of words for your patients to continue using these activities.
We remind you that "Making Words" consists of making words by putting fragments, syllables or individual letters in the correct order and "Word Fishing” is the children version.
