After the success of the working memory game for children “The Little Glutton”, NeuronUP launches an adult version called “Bottle Caps”. This exercise consists of sorting the sequence of numbered bottle caps in motion.
The new working memory game “Bottle Caps” is specifically designed to evoke the memories of our clients because many of them played in their childhood to this game. In this way, we want to enhance the involvement and motivation of the clients in the process of cognitive rehabilitation in which they are immersed.
What cognitive functions are worked with this executive functions activity for adults?
The main cognitive function that this game for adults works is the working memory. Although the clients will also exercise the sustained attention, the hemineglect and inhibition.
“Bottles Caps” is divided into phases and clients increase or decrease level according to their successes or errors. Besides, this can be personalized for each client according to their abilities. The therapist can choose the number of bottle caps, the range of numbers and if the elements can move or not. Also the professional will choose the maximum number of error for each client.
For example, the professional can choose to have 30 bottle caps with range of numbers between 1 and 50 or he can choose only 10 bottle caps with numbers between 1 and 10. The therapist can also decide that the user can have 5 errors or none.
Finally we want to insist on the importance of choosing the right game for each user:
-“Bottle Caps” is the working memory game for adults.
-“Little Glutton” is the working memory game for children.
